Commentary: Historical Recession Signals Are Flashing Red
Unemployment insurance continuing claims increased by 122,000 on a non-seasonally adjusted basis from July 2 to July 9 to 1.45 million, the latest U.S. Department of Labor data shows, as multiple historical recession signals are flashing red.
Gross Domestic Product for Q2 2022 is out tomorrow, but it's riding now at about -1.6%, an it's likely to be still negative when it's officially announced. Q1 GDP was also negative, so it's all but official that we are already 6 months into a recession - as if it wasn't obvious already. Of course the Biden Administration is now trying to tell us that negative GDP isn't ack-shu-al-ly a recession, so I'm sure we'll be hearing all about how this time it's different. Maybe we'll hear about the economy's pronouns, too.
Not according to Biden and his press secretary and the Chairman of the Treasury. They've even gone so far as change the definition of recession, like they've done with so many other things, to try to hide their ineptitude at economic policy or is it downright economic destructiveness.
Welp... So far Jackass Joe has been the most effective weapon in the Chinese arsenal!

Seen on the internet today: A recession is not a recession unless it comes from the Recession region of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling misery.
