Is Beto O'Rourke closing the gap in Texas governor's race?

HOUSTON - Against the painful backdrop of the highest inflation in four decades, the Texas electorate has been "whipsawed" by a succession of deeply emotional developments in a single month's time.

  4. In the words of old uncle joe (the dead one, not the senile one). It doesn’t matter who votes, only who counts the votes...

  5. There are so many wetbacks in Texas right now, it’s only a matter of time before the place is a lost forever. Soon, it will be just like Commiefornia. You hear a lot of bold talk outa that place along with a great deal of grandstanding, but the citizens are still just tax mules like everywhere else.

    1. Amen. People forget how conservative California was 30-40 years ago until it got swamped by the Reagan amnesty recipients. It hit the point of no return in the late 80s. Texas is approaching that point soon.

    2. Even today there's a huge amount of Conservatives in inland California - the San Joaquin Valley, the foothills, and especially eastern California.
But yeah, I can remember 40 years ago if you mentioned you were a Democrat in Oakdale or Riverbank City of Action, you'd get your ass kicked. And that was before the Democrats went full retard.

  8. His actual nickname is Beat-O, which is what happened when his classmates caught him after school. Sometimes they called him Smack in high school, which is the sound he made when they hit him. Rumor has it he suffered permanent soft tissue damage from all those third grad wedgies, but that's just a rumor.
