Number of Americans willing to take up arms against government revealed
Almost half of Americans feel like strangers in their own country, a new opinion poll has revealed. It also claims that the majority of people consider their government as a corrupt institution working against them, with more than a quarter saying it may be necessary to take up arms.

As a commenter wrote, "How many agree that taking up arms against the Federal Government is necessary but said otherwise because they have developed a well honed sense of caution. Or just refused to reply to the survey at all".
ReplyDeleteI'm in the second group. And have a foothold in the first.
Self reporting polls like this are notoriously wrong... so I strongly suspect that the number is much higher. Few people will overtly utter words of sedition, but will hold such thoughts in their hearts.

ReplyDeleteAnyone that is too stupid to understand that one should never reveal whether you own weapons or not, even in an anonymous poll, is too stupid to be opposing the government, unless you just want to be cannon fodder.

ReplyDeleteIt's not the "number of Americans who are willing to take up arms against the government", it's the "number of people who answered the phone and tried to impress a phone survey lady by talking tough". The survey lady should have responded "if you're such a badass, why haven't you done anything yet?" and listened to them back-peddle. Tyranny is already here and these morons are posturing. When tyranny knocks at their door, these people will go to pieces so fast you'll have to watch out for the shrapnel.

DeleteMy local county officials, auditors, and tax assessors have a flag on my "record" that they aren't to enter the property without a Sheriff's escort because I've confronted them while armed and told them to fuck off because they didn't have permission to be there. In the few instances where they have showed up with the Sheriff, I've asked the Sheriff if he has a warrant to come on my property and they reply "nope" and leave. I doubt the percentage of "tough guys" that took the survey do anything to stand up for their rights.
DeleteI'd say divide any # they get by about 20 to see the real #. People have kids. It takes a lot to get a man with family to be willing to fight alongside his sons in a losing war. There has to be enough of a rebellion started (like BLM did...) to get people to join (like they did with BLM). The LEFT has balls. The right simple has shown no spine to me. Bush: wimp. Trump: wimp. I know wc's audience is far right (and I am too). But way too much of the right is unrealistic. Slap an american flag on a dumpster & the rigth will flock to it like the left to a pride parade with kids in drag.

ReplyDeleteI believe it is incredibly foolish to even answer a survey like that in any fashion. "Anonymous responses"? Yeah, pull the other one.
ReplyDeleteThe group of people who did answer in the affirmative most likely includes a majority of Leftists. They have already demonstrated that they are willing to use violent methods to change the Government. They have been successful at it too. (c.f. Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, etc.) Of course, they will support violent overthrow of Governments they do not like.
We will see a lot more of this wherever the Leftists have a sympathetic local and State Government to provide cover. They are targeting the "right wing" holdouts in their areas for now. They will come after the "Red States" later.

DeleteJust as a follow-up to my question - how do you decide what's bs or true? If it doesn't fit what you believe it could still be right, or if it does fit it could be wrong. I'm not arguing, I'm just curious.
DeleteThat's actually a pretty hard question to answer. Sometimes you read stuff that you already know is either right or pure bullshit through experience, but sometimes you just have to wait and see. Time usually tells and I've found that the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.
DeleteA good example of both time proving something right or wrong and the truth usually being in the middle is the vaccinations. Some of the shit I was reading from the Right said that everybody that got vaccinated was going to die within a couple years, while the Left was saying it was perfectly safe. Well, a couple of years have passed and while there has been an increased death rate of those that were vaxxed, it sure hasn't been a massive die-off. Hell, hospitals aren't even being overwhelmed by people sickened because of vaccination ill effects. Now, that may change and deaths may increase, maybe even drastically. Like I said, time will tell.
Now, I will also say that I probably read more left wing news than most of my readers just because I have to in order to find articles, most of which aren't political at all, but I do tend to read the political articles I see if for no other reason than to see what the other side is saying or doing. And yeah, I dismiss most of them as being nothing but bullshit simply because I know better and time has proven that, a good example of that being every time a politician says they don't want to take our guns away. They can say that, but everybody knows they're just talking out of their asses.
