Santa Ana holds gun buyback event

Dozens of Southern California residents lined up to turn their guns in to the Santa Ana Police Department on Saturday.

Each gun resulted in a $300 Visa gift card.

Yes, that is a percussion revolver you see at the 1:10 mark on the video.

I don't know about you, but it flat out kills me to see those fucking cops throw those guns around.

  2. Imagine someone breaking into a home, stealing a gun, and getting paid cash. Isn't that called 'fencing' and isn't that ILLEGAL?
So whoever sells 'his' gun, better prove legal ownership.

    1. My first .45 was stolen in Oakland I knew I'd never see it again since the Police never ever return stolen fire arms they find on convicts.

  3. I was disappointed that Boston hadn't done a buyback before I moved to FL. I woulda gladly sold the junk my brother gave me and taken the money and bought something decent.

  6. That gun at 1:10 is probably one of those Uberti black powder replicas. I couldn't afford a real Colt 1861 Navy, so I got a replica at Cabela's which is now hanging up on the wall in my den.

  7. I have to wonder if the Santa Ana police department holds a FFL and if they completed all the required paperwork.

  8. Don't knock percussion revolvers. Just cause you can't reload very fast don't mean the first six bullets aren't sending someone straight to hell. And more than likely, the next 3 people standing behind that someone. Those big lead balls tend to keep on going.

  9. Aren't Hi Points like $150 pretty regularly? Would it be a straw purchase to buy a few dozen of those with the intention of turning them in at a 'buyback' for $300 each? Shoot, I've got a few pieces I'd let go for $300.

  10. Damned if I don't have a box of broken receivers and frames in the basement. Scrap removed from my dad's shop before he passed. I know there's a dozen in that box, with at least 2 dozen more still at the house. Cracked, 'blown', rusted out, "Miller...here's 2 broken guns, can you make one that works?" shit that ended up in boxes.

    1. Was he Tom Miller, former smith at Huntington's? He was a good man. I gave him my old '71 Bronco as a parts truck for his old yellow one.

  11. Since ATF said a thin metal plate is a machine gun, why not march down there with a stack of those plates.
These 'buy backs' is opportunity knocking

  12. I have two Bryco 380 APC guns that are worthless past the first shot. I am looking for a buy back for these guns that were $90 guns when new.
