The Decline Of The American Work Ethic Will Exacerbate The Oncoming Recession

The Atlanta Federal Reserve recently projected that second-quarter GDP fell by 1.9 percent. If its model proves correct, the U.S. economy has fallen into a recession with GDP shrinking for two consecutive quarters. Whether we are technically in a recession is far less important than the reality of the recession Americans have been experiencing for months. At this point, with ongoing historic inflation, Americans are also likely enduring stagflation.

  1. I’m a small business owner, been looking for help since Feb. of 2020. Thank goodness I can do all the work by myself.

  4. Double trouble - how many kids grew up seeing toxic management and bean counter administration screwing over workers. I worked at great places and put in a lot of extra effort and time....then there was a change of management and the new ones were really into squeezing out the last pennies via workforce reduction to increase the bottom line(and admin bonuses). Their work tanked so they started laying everyone off to encourage someone else to buy them up...and inflate their golden parachutes. I went elsewhere, but this seems to have become a management trend some time ago.

  5. My office has 12 nursing positions available in the call center. 5 are currently filled. Local hospital has 5 units (probably 20%) fully shut down for lack of nurses and other personnel.
