Transgender treatment rule draws raucous response

TALLAHASSEE — In what at times appeared more like a tent revival than an agency rule hearing, state health officials on Friday received public input on a proposal that would deny Medicaid coverage for treatments such as puberty-blocking medication and hormone therapy for transgender people.

  1. No, the state shouldn't have to pay for you to geld your children... No, the child isn't making the choice, they have been brainwashed by parents/teachers/etc.

    1. You must be brainwashed. The state doesn't pay squat. The taxpayers are who pay.

    2. I'm well aware we (taxpayers) pay for Medicaid but it is controlled by the State...

    3. Even if the child IS "making a choice" this isn't like getting that ugly teen angst haircut that will only ever live on in pictures. There's no coming back from cutting off a pair of tits or a dick when you change your mind four years later (I remember being that age, my views on almost everything changed every few months.)

As I saw in a recently posted meme, maybe here, "There are only two genders, but countless mental illnesses."

  2. The line has to be drawn somewhere, these procedures should not be paid for with tax dollars...........

  3. They can do whatever they want, just don't demand my tax dollars to do it - and, perhaps more importantly, don't proselytize my family in my tax-paid schools

  4. Tennessee will experience the same results as my onece great state:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The North Carolina state employee health plan will resume coverage of gender affirming treatments for transgender employees, the state treasurer said Wednesday, complying with a recent federal court ruling that declared the refusal of coverage unconstitutional.

  6. "But Nathan Bruemmer, an attorney who works as LGBTQ advocate for state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried..."

Why does your agriculture department need an LGBTQ advocate?

    1. Because Nikki Fried is an outright socialist bordering on communist (as long as she's in the elite.) Every time she opens her cock holster or muff muncher, DeSantis slaps her silly while overriding her.

She only got elected because she said she would push for legalized commercial grows. She is the most anti-agriculture Ag Commissioner you could ever have, short of Sri Lanka's Ag Com.

  7. Notice how the left continues to shift the Overton window through their stealthy abuse of language. They just slip phrases in until that shift in attitude becomes established in discourse and nobody pays attention until it's too late. Sex or gender are not *assigned* at birth. You are born as either a male or a female and there's no assigning to it. These clowns make it sound like someone flips a coin in deciding whether you're a male or female, that it's an arbitrary decision and can therefore be changed later on. That is utter bullshit and they need to be called out on it whenever and wherever it happens.

Same deal today - they hate their lives and so pretend to be something they're actually not, thereby destroying their lives...

  10. Sorry about the last post. It was from one of your posts. I thought I'd read it elsewhere.

    1. No biggie. It was a meme, but I've seen the sentiment elsewhere too.
