Commentary: You Can Bet Trump Will Be Back in 2024
We’re going to get a massive red wave this fall. The 2021 results in Virginia, out of control inflation, Joe Biden’s dismal approval ratings in recent polls (for perspective, Obama’s approval rating was 44.7 percent in October 2010, just before the midterm mauling Democrats got that year), soaring gas prices, and a porous southern border indicate that even places Biden won by 20 points in 2020 are in play this fall.

So, the speechwriter for George W Bush is all-in for Donald Trump huh? OK, well thanks for letting us know all about your 'sure thing' election. You don't mind if we keep paying attention and working to make it happen, though - right?
ReplyDeleteOther names are being tossed about:
ReplyDeleteMike Pence, ~(hell, no!)
Kristi Noem, ~ (nope!)
Nikki Haley ~ (fuck, no!)
1 strike, YER OUT !!!
DeleteThere's going to be another round of massive fraud. Look at the recent Republican primary in Colorado for Secretary of State. They're not gonna turn the keys over willingly.
ReplyDeleteI have questions about the Tx R governor's primary. Who votes in primaries, the base. The base in Tx was already cooling on Abbott before 2020, and he keeps doing his thing. You have Alan West, who has long been wildly popular. Yet Abbott won with about 70%, and West came in third, about 10%? It stinks to me.
DeleteDems cheated last election, I see no reason why they will abandon a system that works. Couple that with the fact that the reason there has been no positive results of any investigations into the stolen election leads me to believe that the Reps in congress hated Trump as much as the Dems do. They are all hogs at the trough and Trump was stepping on ALL their toes. Don't forget that another surge of chinese flu has been predicted for the fall so here comes more mail in ballots...but I keep my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching Dem voter fraud for 50 years
DeleteThe cheating might work in the statewide Senate races. In the House races, harder to cheat. Smaller vote numbers to work with and most of our House districts are fairly segregated by D or R.
DeleteChris M. Which is why the Dems try to redistrict as soon as they get into power. I'm still surprised the NY State gerrymandering got shot down.
DeleteNow if Republicans did it you'd hear the screaming from the Moon. Kind of like DeSantis and the non-RINO Republicans are doing in Florida, getting rid of 'traditionally minority districts' (one of which stretches from Jacksonville to the north suburbs of (wh)Orlando, and in some sections is only one block wide and swerves around historic small white family holdings.)
I'll vote for whoever jails the Clintons, Obamas, and FJB.
ReplyDeleteDon't fret, Democrats,
ReplyDeleteDominion & other electronic voting systems' got your back.
Corrupt Democrat & RINO officials also got this.
Elect "The Father of the Vaccine" to another term?
Not me.
To be perfectly frank, I truly hope that Mr Trump is not going to further divide our once-great nation by occupying the White House again. He was an effective leader but a major cause for a massive divide in the nation. Anyone who is in a leadership position and insists on Tweeting nasty messages day and night, non-stop is an egomaniac that needs to be put to pasture. I am far more interested in seeing Ron DeSantis as our next President of the US.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think we need somebody that's smart enough to fire everybody that served in a leadership position under the previous administration, something Trump did not do for some reason. He promised to drain the swamp, but he kept the swamp creatures.
DeleteAgreed, plus he kept endorsing candidates who would stab him in the back. Off the top of my head I recall McCain, Romney, 'LadyBug' Graham Collins, I know I'm missing some...
DeleteTrump isn't the one that divided the country. Have you forgotten the left's 4 year temper tantrum?
Delete"we need somebody that's smart enough to fire everybody that served in a leadership position under the previous administration" My thoughts, your words. Worth repeating. - Mississloppigarro
DeleteI will never understand why an incoming President, from the other party that served in the previous WH, doesn't remove the entire WH staff, except for housekeeping, replacing them with people loyal to the new administration, when he/she/it takes office.
DeleteThis "continuity of .gov" BS, was probably invented by the Demonrats just so that could screw with the new administration when they lost power after an election. Just look at the what that meant for Trump's administration as the most recent example. Not that there aren't other snakes that talk to the press out of turn during any administration. Just look at Trump's first Chief of Staff Reince Priebius(probably mispellled IDC, but you know who I'm talking about) who after every meeting with Trump RAN to the phone to disclose to the press what was discussed and this guy was a supposed Republican. Then there's all of the three letter agency and military spooks on the WH staff that listen in to EVERY CALL to a foreign leader, who subsequently leak EVERY DETAIL of what was said on the call.
If it was me, I'd have had them all shot for treason on the WH lawn the very next morning after the call to the Pres. of Mexico was leaked to the press. Better yet, I'd hang them using the pull them up method instead of the sudden drop and stop and give the press an hours notice, so that could document the squirming as these traitorous fucks slowly struggled while strangling to death.
That BS that Miley pulled with disobeying Trump's order to draw down troops in Syria was another grievous breach of discipline that should have resulted in Miley's stripping of rank and firing when Trump found out about it. Someone probably told Trump he couldn't fire the guy, which is pure BS. Then there's Miley calling his counterpart in China, telling the Chinese that he wouldn't allow Trump to attack them. Yet, Miley is still serving as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs with the resulting disaster in Afghanistan and all of the woke BS happening in all military branches at his direction and under his command. He's another one that should be executed for treason.
Nemo
John, I respect your opinion but the truth is that the media attacked him immediately when he first announced and haven't stopped. The politicians chimed in later. If we want peace then the media needs muzzled or an honest narrative. When Bush 43 was in, the media dumped all over him and never said a peep. Finally, Trump was in and he fought back because no one else would. I liked it! Imagine a different R candidate in 2016. We'd be in the second term of Hildabeast already.
DeleteThe powers-that-be were talking impeachment even before Trump was elected.
DeleteAs to a president who divides the nation, do you mean like Clinton, Obama or Biden? Every time we get a republican who wants to 'unite the nation' we get someone like Bush II or Romney or McCain. Do you want Romney or a Bush wannabe (Jeb! is still around) or a new McCainesque nightmare.
I want a president who causes the leftist twitwads to wet their pants. Trump's only problem was he trusted too many people's opinions and got fucked over for that.
Trump 2.0 would be radically different. You'll see him, if he gets elected, a lot of non-swamp creatures suddenly appear. No Mattis, nor anyone else that says they're conservative but aren't. You can damn well bet Trump has spent a shitload of money building dossiers on everyone who could possibly be nominated.
smarter, meaner and a leaner trusted staff
DeleteThe article neglects to point out the strides the Democrats have made in their effort to count the votes. We had a red wave in 2020 for all the good it did.
ReplyDeleteTrump ran as a Republican. He won in spite of the GOP. (They couldn't buy him- he's a billionaire.)
ReplyDeleteThe Uniparty made sure that would not happen again and installed a feeble puppet.
And here we are...
So many good comments to unpack. First, I still believe that the Democrats certainly did cheat to put Joe Biden into the White House. The problem is that they caught the Republicans by surprise, because the Dems were so very well organized to do what they did, while the Republicans thought it would be business as usual. That meant that of course there would be the normal cheating, but that Trump would of course win, with his huge number of supporters. They dropped the ball, and it cost them the presidency.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that even the Republicans will make the same mistake again. Of course if they do, that falls directly on their own head, and they deserve to lose.
Hardnox, I agree that the media and the Democrats dumped on Trump for his entire time not only in office, but also from the very moment he announced as a candidate for the presidency. These are the same people who were falling all over themselves trying to buddy up to Trump, just because he is one of the super rich, and the pitiful jackasses wanted to suck up to him, in case they might get some of his money. It reminds me of the nerdy fellow, who hangs out with his hunky, athletic buddy in the bar, hoping to get the leftovers of women that try to cling to his buddy.
Don't forget that the Republicans also didn't do Trump any favors in his 4 years as president, but they were damn certain to take any credit for things that went quite well, thank you very much. One of the former president's biggest desires was to get rid of Obamacare, or the ACA, and replace it with something that was both more useful to more Americans, and more affordable to the country. Seeing how the congress had sent bills to former president Obama on numerous times, knowing that it would be vetoed anyway, Trump figured that it was a shoe in to pass, and to be replaced with a much better version. Donald was quickly dissuaded of that notion. And he should have learned from that early defeat that the Republican party was not to be trusted.
I am not as certain that Trump will run again. The Democrats are scared shitless of him, that much is obvious, with the show trial of the January 6th protest going on, and them calling people as witnesses who were not even there. It is all being done not to reach the truth, but to sink former president Trump. They even impeached him, not once, but twice, trying to not only prove a point, but to leave a bad taste in the voters mouth, that was meant to keep anyone from voting for Donald Trump ever again.
There can be no other reason for holding an impeachment, costing millions of dollars, so very late into his term, except to harm him politically. If Trump does choose to run again, I can see how any Democrat candidate that does agree to a debate, won't stand a chance, considering the ammunition that their party is now piling up for whoever ends up as their standard bearer. They will have to explain just how their party took a rather strong economy and turned it to shit, and made us look weak to both our friends and our enemies abroad. And then, perhaps the biggest and most dangerous thing, they will have to try to explain just how and why the president has refused to close down our southern border from illegal immigration. Remembering that until Donald Trump came along, not one single politician was willing to even become involved in the discussion of illegal immigrants, and the borders.
Of course, all of these things are depending on the hope that we have not devolved into total anarchy and an active shooting war, with a line in the sand drawn, with each side not willing to let the other side feeling just as strongly. At this point, I would not be surprised by either outcome.
I like Trump just fine. I do wish he would keep his mouth shut at times though. I remember the last debate with Biden. Trump could have demolished that man but he was sucked right into the bullshit. I agree that Musk is a bullshitter but I think Trump probably should have refrained for saying that. If he runs will I vote for him? Absolutly.
