A slogan popular in 1789; not pleasant; not recommended behavior; but the sort of thing that happens when people who have had too much gather torches and pitchforks and head to the castle. Is the West approaching that moment?
Let me make the argument that the sheep will never rise. I hope I’m wrong but I suspect that it’s too late.

Didn't read it word for word, but a quick scan reveales he could have cut it down to just 2 words: "We're fucked".
ReplyDeleteI read the whole thing and yep We're Fucked.
DeleteThe only people that did not march with torch and fork to the castle were the Village Idiots. It appears the entire population of California is made up of idiots. So there is no one to march.
ReplyDeleteI read your comment sort of skimming it the first time. I thought that you had said Canada, instead of California. But when I considered it, I believe that the same thing applies to both places. It used to be said "as California goes, thus goes the entire country."
DeleteIn some ways, that has not really changed, other than you can add a few cities to California. You can look to Illinois, and take the city of Chicago, and add that to the mix of CA. Then the rest of Illinois is for the most part, other than suburbs of Chicago, pretty decent. Almost boring, actually. Look at New York City, and they also can be added to the liberal conclave of CA and Chicago, and they all fit. But I was in upstate New York at the beginning of July, and if nobody had told me, I could not really have told the difference between NY state, and parts of my state of Michigan. It is that way all over America. The ruling class, for want of a better term, is not the majority of the nation, but it is really just a blip on the radar, while most of our country is normal. Even the left, who seem to be crazier and crazier, have been pulled, or pushed, that way by a very small group of Socialists, who want to make America into a Communist wonderland.
One of the major points of Communism is the eventual overthrow of the Bourgeoisie by the Proletariat, this taken from he Communist Manifesto. Basically it would mean that the ruling class will take over the country, like they have now in America, and run it for everyone, until the poor and middle class is strong enough to be able to run the country for everyone's benefit.
Everyone can see the actual problem with that idea. Once people get power and great wealth, they tend to like it, and take whatever steps are necessary to maintain their hold on it, no matter what. That includes in the case of people like Chairman Mao, Stalin, Ho Chi Min, and Pol Pot. They ended up killing some 300 million or more, I cannot remember the exact number. But they were not concerned with how many they had to kill, in order to stay in power. And of course, there were many others, in many larger and small roles, who did the same thing, be they African tribal leaders, or Somali Pirates. Even our own nation, down in the deep south, before the black people got away from the thumb of the old idea of the plantation owners, it was considered acceptable to kill or beat, etc. a black man, for as used to said, "getting uppity".
The problem that I see with America now is that the leftists have become so emboldened that they no longer feel the need to hide what they are doing, under cover of night, or secrecy, but count on their friends in media and on social networks to help them maintain their tenacious hold on the government of America, and on the American people. Have a son who is a druggie, a male slut, and runs a scam with the Chinese? No problem, the laptop that he stupidly left with some computer repair person, will be hidden until at least after the election, rather than let it cause Papa Joe to lose by so much that the operators in the party can't scam the win for daddy dementia. It really was not that hard, since Trump, while doing a good job, and getting things done, did not have the solid support of his party behind him, and they hung him out to spin in the wind.
I know, another essay, on a Friday night. But the danger we are facing seems to me to be the most severe that I have ever seen. And I suspect that everyone can feel the same thing. Stay firm and awake, and watch your back.
