Says who?

Most U.S. adults think gun violence is increasing nationwide and want to see gun laws made stricter, according to a new poll that finds broad public support for a variety of gun restrictions, including many that are supported by majorities of Republicans and gun owners.

The poll by the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research also shows majorities of U.S. adults view both reducing gun violence and protecting gun ownership as important issues.

Scanning the article, I didn't see where the poll was conducted, but I'm guessing big cities.
What I did find funny though was the last paragraph:
All the killings have caused Leach to contemplate buying a gun for his own protection. While he hasn’t had a chance yet to get his gun permit, he said, “That is my intention.”

So basically the entire article is about how most Americans support stricter gun control laws, yet here we have a democrat thinking about buying a gun.
Typical liberal attitude - For me but not for thee.

  1. Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing before I read your comment about the poll probably being taken in big cities. Talk about a poll that would be easy to manipulate the results of.

I really don't need to read the article. Consider the source. You have to first prove they are unbiased, to warrant spending the time reading it.

    1. ^ This! My rights are not up for a vote. Getting awfuly tired of half of my countrymen thinking I am the problem, when all they need to do is look in the mirror.

  5. Pollsters = bullshitters
    This article is spin.
Would the University of Chicago find overwhelming and increasing support for the Constitution?
Who paid for the poll? They satisfied?
    Did a poll even happen?

  6. Polls are as reliable as the person paying to commission it. Similarly politicians, media, scientists....

From the 1980s BBC SitCom "Yes, Prime Minister". The perfect balanced sample.

  7. Polls exist for one reason. To fool the gullible into buying the BS being sold. They are designed, and conducted to support an agenda. Not to discern public opinion. The criminals in power don't give a rats ass what we think, believe or want.

  8. All polls carefully pick and choose the respondents to "tailor" the results. Just ignore them.

  9. As someone else mentioned, my rights are not negotiable, especially when those who want to take my rights away are followers of the same ideology that killed almost 200,000,000 people in the 20th century.
