Maui County Police Department issued its first permit to carry a concealed weapon out of 187 applicants. This after the Supreme Court ruling in June upholding the right to carry a gun in public.

Come on, Hawaii - get your shit together
HONOLULU(KHON2) — It’s been two months since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled people can carry a gun outside their homes. So far, only one license to carry a firearm has been issued in the state. And many said more needs to be done to ensure the public is safe long term.

Any "right" that requires a permit to exercise it is not a right, it's a privilege at the discretion of someone who has no right to make that determination.

DeleteHawaii is just slow rolling this in an effort to nullify the SCOTUS decision. I would start suing everybody responsible for the slow action including the Police Chief.
ReplyDeleteGuys SCOTUS ruled you/WE have the right to carry a weapon. Period. The SCOTUS mentions nothing about permits or any other infringements to our rights. They did that for a reason and still people wonder why we have to wait for permission from the state to carry after the SCOTUS ruled on that very RIGHT UN INFRINGE!. Remember always the SCOTUS is the court of last resort. There is nothing further than SCOTUS. YOU ask and question yet you don't see the light. You people are the same type of sheep that still wear masks. You STILL SEEK PERMISSION from a very corrupt state. A state that will gladly guide you into box cars for your own good and sadly YOU will follow without question or pause. YOU think you are asking for absolution to get a blessing from the state but YOU disregard your GOD given right that YOU always had and seek a lesser blessing to move forward. But you know what if you think that then you are useless with a weapon. You ask because you are afraid. So be it. Be the sheep. Cower under the boot of FJB .BECAUSE IT IS YOUR AND MY RIGHT TO CARRY A WEAPON UN- INFRINGED. Without exception, YEAH I SAID WITHOUT EXCEPTION! It is our natural right. WE THE PEOPLE need no permission from ANYONE regarding ANY of our rights. ESPECIALLY THE SECOND AMENDMENT. STOP LOOKING TOWARDS THE GOVERNMENT FOR PERMISSION TO DO ANYTHING. There's a whole lot of YOUs and generalizations in your comment, partner. Maybe YOU should realize that there's a shitload of us out there that carry regardless of the law. Myself, I carried a gun WITHOUT A PERMIT (since you like capitalization so much) for 31 years in the State of California before I moved here.

You are absolutely right Ken on all accounts. I did get a little carried away with that post. Its most regrettable I let it fly. It gets a little unnerving when people still seek mortal approval for a GOD given right.
