First we'll cut the water to your farm, then we'll help you sell food you couldn't grow

WOODLAND, Calif. — A new federal program aims to create more opportunities for small farmers in the Sacramento valley hit hard by the pandemic by helping them connect with food banks and in turn increasing the quality of food on the dinner table.

  1. California Secretary of Agriculture Karen Ross said:
"The program makes sense considering urban farms lost their income when restaurants and farmer markets shut down".

And who forced the closure of those businesses? It wouldn't happen to be your dreamy governor, Gavin Newsom, would it Karen?

  2. Drive the farmers to their knees by withholding water and then help them sell their food, but only at governent regulated prices...A lesson in Socialism-101

  3. The UK is now offering to buy out or help farmers "retire" by paying them to get out of farming altogether.

  5. Didn't you all know that growing food is bad for the planet? Save the planet, starve the people (except for the elite of course).

    1. There is now a move to ban fertiliser. This worked really well in Sri Lanka so let's all do it. The thing is, industrial farming methods can feed more people using less land. This is good for the planet because it frees up more land for genuinely planet friendly projects, ones that actually improve the world for everyone. When it comes to caring for the environment, greens are the enemy. Good intentions combined with ignorance never have a good outcome.

  6. A farmer can always feed those Government workers to his pigs.
I'm certain there are plenty of gang bangers who will accept free Government vehicles.

  7. Last year there was talk that the feds were paying farmers to till their unpicked corn under rather than harvest it. In our valley, the corn was just left on the stalk and was never harvested, even though it was a great year for rain and temps. We will see what happens this year.
