I thought it was hilarious myself

An Alabama town has disbanded its police department after texts between officers joking about slavery surfaced on social media.

"This has torn this community apart," City Councilman Corey Abrams said during a council meeting Thursday, according to the Associated Press. "It doesn’t matter what color we are as long as we do right by people."

  1. if you think that is funny, you should have heard the remarks made by EMT guys back when
I worked at the U of penn. hospital. they had to pick up and bring in all those great guys who just happen to get shot, or stabbed or in one case run over.
just another night shift in west philly back in the 1990's
the idea they wanted was a scoop like thing to pick them up and dropped them in the back
so they wouldn't have to get out of the truck- and maybe shot also,,,,

    1. The Sheriff's Department will take over and step up patrols in the town until they rehire a new PD. That's what happened when the Red Boiling Springs PD quit en masse a couple years ago.

  3. Blacks like to think they were the first ever to be enslaved. As with most things they think, they're wrong about that, too.

    1. Does anyone know why Jamaicans have that strange language? It's because the slaves there were Black or Irish! Now an Irishman can't blend in with English, & there's no running from an island.
      Just sayin'.

  4. After all of the anti white shaming Alabama has suffered, negros and slavery are fertile topics for belly-laughs.
Like Nazi jokes in Germany, taboo subjects can work.
The news article should have better covered the horrible humor for the world to enjoy.

  6. Wow, talk about being over sensitive! I thought it was real funny, especially since my great, great, great (not sure about the number of greats) grandfather was a slave owner, but he was one of the good ones.

  7. The curious thing is, there is no mention of race in the joke. Slavery, yes, but not race; find me a race that's never been enslaved, ever, by anyone.

  8. So, two slaves walk into a bar...
Nah, um, Ali says "I'm glad my great granddaddy got on the boat!" after seeing Africa for the Rumble in the Jungle.
Oh, that was real, not made up.
