The actor, 64, accidentally shot dead Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of his film ‘Rust’ in October 2021, and injured director Joel Souza in the incident in Bonanza Creek Ranch, Santa Fe.
Baldwin has consistently denied that he pulled the trigger on the gun, which was supposed to be a prop, but a new report concluded that it could not have been fired unless the trigger was pulled.
It's not that they are stupid. They need to show intent, and he is claiming that the gun was defective and he never pulled the trigger. So the cops needed to show that he is wrong or lying, and the evidence has to be enough to convince the idiots who wind up on the jury.
ReplyDeleteGood, they can finally charge him with manslaughter (at least) and hopefully find a way to prove it premeditated.

I want to know if the revolver is a single action, or double action.
ReplyDeleteSingle action, modern replica of a Colt Single Action Army / Peacemaker revolver. It is possible to 'slip-fire" one of these revolvers by holding the trigger back as you cock the weapon, the release the hammer and the gun will fire. While the gun is being cocked, it takes only a few ounces of pressure to hold the trigger back, because much of the "weight" of the trigger pull is in releasing the sear, which is not engaged until the gun is cocked and the hammer held back by the sear.

When I found out the 45 Colt was a replica a Pietta single-action revolver I knew the trigger had to be cocked and the trigger pulled. The Pietta might look like an old gun on the outside but the internals are modern technology that prevents the hammer from going past a certain spot unless the trigger is pulled. The gun could be loaded and with the trigger down it could be used like a hammer and it wouldn't go off.
ReplyDeleteSo the FBI says he pulled he trigger?
ReplyDeleteNow I have to wonder who actually pulled the trigger.
FBI is asshoe.
DeleteNow there's a bunch of NM prosecutors saying, 'damn it! now we got to do something'. They're not going to get a 'manslughter' out of this, but the NM revised code (I've read it) does have a provision for 'I killed someone but I didn't mean to'. That fits for Alec but I bet they go squishy, forever probation and he walks. Far as the set guy that said it was a 'cold gun' (without checking) and the so-called armourer, they'll probably walk too. Far as the last two, they'll never work on a set again, and all three will face *huge* civil cases, as well they should.
ReplyDeleteMost guilty people say they didn't do it.
ReplyDeleteWhen in fact they did.
The Fumbling, Bumbling, Instigators are a very very thorough organization; hell, it took them over a year to make up a crappy unbelieveable story about the Vegas shootings. They blamed it on a single person using an AR15 with a bump stock. Too bad they spent all that time concocting a bs story when the public forgot it in 8 daze.
ReplyDeleteThe FBI is LYING. Guns shoot all by themselves all the time, they are roaming in packs through cities like Chicago killing tens of thousands of people each year.
ReplyDelete😉😊😂😎😇
Why did the Eff Bee Eye get involved in this at all? Seems to me to be a local/county/state responsibility.
ReplyDeleteAlec Baldwin is a POS, and I'd be happy to see him get what he deserves [1], but the timing on this clearly shows it's a distraction. The FBI showed its ass on the Trump raid. Even people who despise Trump are saying it sets a bad precedent. In response, whoever is running the White House is throwing the FBI and the Lord High Third-Generation Pogrom Survivor under the bus. So, what can we pass along to the tame newsmedia to divert public attention? Therefore: Baldwin, the gift that keeps giving. (And talking, and talking. God, what a mouthy bastard.)
ReplyDelete[1] I don't give a single shit about "standard Hollywood practice" regarding handling of firearms. Rape, buggery, drug abuse and pedophilia are also standard Hollywood practices. Anyone wanna defend those?
Charge him with manslaughter (I always want to call it "Man's Laughter", after a show I can't remember), throw him in jail and don't let him out until he's completed his sentence. Don't send him to Club Fed, either. He needs to go to a Federal "Pound me in the ass" prison.
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another example of our two-lane system of justice. If you or I were Baldwin, we would already be convicted and serving time. Since that's not the case, you see the result of having fame and fortune. I say throw him in the gen pop at the prison facility nearest the incident. He needs to learn to be humble and empathetic.
Delete"You can't spell slaughter without 'laughter" " as a friend of mine once said.
DeleteDon in Oregon
"It states that the gun, when working properly, will not release a bullet and primer at the same time just by someone fiddling with the hammer."
ReplyDeleteThe English need to hire someone that has a clue about firearms to proof read their articles about firearms.
Remember they are writing for a population with an equivalent 5th grade education.
DeleteI thought that the delay was due to the negotiations over bribes. You can bet baldwin greased the palms of every prosecutor, judge and LEO in NM. But, like Mike C stated, the fibbers need a distraction and they've been saving this one for something good.
ReplyDeleteWell in their defense they have been spending quite a few man hours trying to frame Trump so probably killing someone is pretty low on their priority list.
ReplyDeleteevery day the FBI finds a new way to look like morons.
ReplyDeleteHe's an actor repeating his lines- this time given to him by his lawyer.
ReplyDeleteAlec Baldwin is and always was a P.O.S. Everyone seems to have forgotten the hamburger incident while cursing out his daughter.
