Portrait of the brilliant General Thomas Jackson, who led Confederate troops in the bloody battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Bull Run, where he and his troops defended their position "like a stone wall."
Better get Lee and Jackson stories in. West Point and Annapolis most likely to accede to "study" and remove all references to Confederates. Lee was superintendent at West Point, but he'll likely be referred to as "That Guy" in future lists.
"Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees." - T. J. Jackson's last words. I've been to all the Fredericksburg battlefields, driven Old Plank Road, visited Jackson Shrine (where he died) and his grave in Lexington. "Strike the tent." - R. E. Lee's last words. The Lee chapel has greatly reduced visitation hours. The flags that use to flank Lee's mausoleum have been removed. I'm glad I saw it before W&L administration got woke.
Exceptional presentation.
ReplyDeleteWhat a man! Should be taught in every school, along with Lee. Hybo
ReplyDeleteWe send out best to be cut down as those that Ayn Rand wrote about plot and get richer.
