My dad said he had a black guy in his Navy boot camp who would just sink to the bottom of the pool as soon as he got in no matter what arm and leg motions he made. Just "glub glub glub" then lie on the bottom until they went down and got him.
A couple of years ago three black guys were lost in the Gulf, their boat capsized. I asked my co-worker who happened to be black what they were doing in the Gulf - she replied, “I know; my people don’t swim!”
