I didn't realize you could still get busted for pot in the USA. Shows what I know. Of course I do know they will bust yo ass in a heart beat for pot in Russia.
I live near him. Yeah, still federally illegal in Bama. But you can get a medical card and buy from one of the (3?) dispensaries. But even then it's up to the individual police departments to decide on enforcement.
My understanding is no state has done what is colloquially known as 'legalizing' pot. What has been done is some states have created a state-issued card available for purchase for persons meeting certain requirements, mostly of the quasi-medical conditions. Possession of such card allows purchase of state-sanctioned pot, or growing less than a state-stipulated amount.
You're just a few years behind times. NINETEEN states have legalized weed for recreational use and don't require cards to purchase weed from a state regulated shop. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/articles/where-is-marijuana-legal-a-guide-to-marijuana-legalization
Michigan has passed a law allowing marijuana for recreational use. When I started to play music in a band, I got some advice on how to keep the pads on my keys clean. You simply put a cigarette paper in the key opening, close the key, and gently pull the paper out, drying the key and keeping it clean. The person that told me this, the saxophone player from Chuck Mangione's band, Chris Vadala, told me that I just had to ask the guys in the band, someone was sure to have cigarette papers. I met him at a jazz festival in Grand Rapids, at Aquinas College. Those type of festivals are neat, getting to meet the people who are making the music that you listen to. And back then, they were all willing to talk to you, and were not only friendly, but could give pretty helpful advice in just a couple of minutes.
