California Governor Gavin Newsom is “undeniably, unequivocally” planning to run for president in 2024 if President Biden chooses not to seek a second term, two individuals with knowledge of Newsom’s plans told TheWrap.

Indeed. And it has been done to Washington (state), Oregon, and Colorado. Says something about democrats, ostensibly escaping high taxes, high crime rates, and idiotic CA restrictions, that they would continue to vote the same way in their new surroundings.
dhmosquito above is correct. When I moved to Colorado in 1972, some cars had bumper stickers saying "Don't Californicate Colorado". It worked out as "well" there as here in OR (spit).
