  1. #4 On the farm when I was about three or four years old a hand was plowing and got stuck right close to the driveway. I pulled my pedal tractor into a mud puddle in the driveway and pretended I was stuck too. My brother, who would have been about twelve, pulled into the drive on a big ol Minneapolis Moline. He hooked a chain from the tow bar to the front of my tractor and pulled me out. The good ol days. Guessing 1953.

    1. They propped me up on the tractor seat when I was five years old. Massey Ferguson 135 Diesel chugging along in Low 2nd or 3rd, towing a farm wagon while my older brothers and hired field hands loaded bunches of collard greens. If they started to get behind, one of them would trot up to the tractor, slap a hand down on the clutch and pop it out of gear...I was too short to reach the pedals. My biggest fear was I would get stuck and Dad would yell at me the way he yelled at my brothers when they got stuck. Second biggest fear was running over the row and getting yelled at for killing the second cutting. This would have been Summer of '67.

  2. Re .gif 9, that’s a neat trick to remember for the future, ‘accidentally’ drop some food downblouse, then see what results!

    1. I was thinking the same thing. In the young man's defense, he wasn't trying to entice it over with food, or pet it.

    1. They used to. Got bitten by a stray cat on Ft Sill, OK (dad was Army) when I was a little pain in the ass.

Will never forget the fear and pain of getting rabies shots into my abdomen.

Can’t stand cats either. Go figure.

    1. Naw. It was his ignorance in action. A tell of the inexperienced is they try to jump over the wave.
All he had to do was to duck under, become less buoyant by letting the air out of his lungs, emerge out the back unscathed.

    2. I've done that, you get sand/gravel body blasting starting off with your face. A nice exfoliation.....

  10. #1 serious skills but a rope that size, that flexible probably is overdue for replacement due to age & wear.

  11. Some Massholes docked near us and didn't even tie it right. Their boat was hitting the pilings and we told them so they accused us of loosening them

  12. #6. A lot of the arrogant people I have encountered over the years have ended up being far less talented or intelligent than they thought they were.

  13. #6: Satisfying end, but if I was on the same team as this guy I'd really want to punch him in the face, hard.
