Keep beating that dead horse

SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a sweeping package of bills Friday to expand California's reliance on clean energy and reduce carbon emissions, moves he said further establish the state as a global climate leader.

The new laws include proposals aimed at reducing exposure to gas and oil pollution in communities of color, expanding clean energy jobs and accelerating the state's timeline for getting most of its electricity from renewable energy sources. Newsom signed them following a record-breaking heat wave that forced California to rely more heavily on natural gas for its electricity production.

  1. He's doing the rest of us a favour by providing somewhere to point at when you need to show where this green crap leads. During the cold war we could always disprove the arguments of the left by pointing at the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries that clearly demonstrated how disastrous their ideas were in practice. Same thing here.

  2. "Insanity" is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

"Psychosis" is doing the same thing over and over, ONLY HARDER, and demanding different results.

  5. I have a great idea! Enslave all of California's Negro population, decouple the steam turbines from the generators, and have the Negroes turn the generators in 8 hour shifts, to generate the state's electric needs. That'll solve a large percentage of their crime problem while generating clean energy. for California. If that works, then the rest of the states can follow suit. Even if the generating part of this idea does not work (which it obviously will not) the reduction in crime part my still work.

  9. "Mill Valley (Marin County) Syndrome". Regulated all the lumber companies out of business, then buy/trade assets at seriously reduced prices to create parks all over the county. Then import lumber from the PNW and Canada. They'll take a victory lap for being "green", while importing coal-produced electricity from other states.

"Green" Marin County has enough "Green" energy production to supply 4,000 homes. There were 110K households in the county in 2020.

  10. I think he wanted to be an asshole movie star. That failed so all that was left was to become an asshole Californiia politician. He's got a degree in political science and wants to debate DeSantis who has Yale, Harvard and Naval Justice School (JAG Officer) deploma's. Newsomes got a big mouth and DeSantis would destroy him. I doubt Newsome would show up for a debate.

    2. They're attempting to make hay out of the fact that most California refineries are located near cities occupied by black folks, ie: Richmond, El Segundo, Wilmington.

You know. The old Leftist "people of color are disproportionally impacted by..." trope.
