The popsicle, dubbed the "Cold Dog," is being sold for $2 at frozen desserts company Popbar locations in New York City, Atlanta, New Orleans and Long Beach, Oscar Mayer said in a press release. It visibly resembles a hot dog topped with mustard and has "smokey, umami notes of Oscar Mayer's iconic Weiner."

Lemme guess: it’s hot dog water from street vendors. tl/dr
ReplyDeleteMy old man used to tell me when I was a kid that the Sabrett hot dog vendor on the corner used to rinse his socks in the water.....

I grew up in the lower Hudson Valley of downstate New York ate countless Sabrett hot dogs when I was younger topped with mustard and onions in red sauce.
DeleteThought Sabrett´s where a good hot dog until I moved upstate, (the real upstate of New York), and started eating Hoffmans hot dogs.
Hoffmans are way better than Sabretts. Not even close in my opinion.

No. Just no.
ReplyDeleteIf you have to resort to using an Asian term to describe an original American delicacy, you've already lost.

To clarify are referring to ¨Cold Dog¨ or ¨umami¨?
DeleteThis would go well with the Sonic pickle juice slush.
