Ah, that authentic Mexican dish, the Enchirito

(WXIN/NEXSTAR) — The fans have voted and the results are in: Taco Bell is officially bringing back the Enchirito, its trademarked smothered burrito item.

The fast food chain recently announced a vote-driven contest to decide which discontinued fan-favorite menu item should be brought back. On Friday, Taco Bell announced that its Rewards members had voted to bring back the Enchirito.

  5. I don't know if you were here then, but the Taco Bell in our town came only after we had moved here. The folks I talked to were excited as could be, we were getting a TACO BELL! They opened a storefront next to the Walmart and did a land office business. They did so well that they opened a standalone business just down the main drag. I was more excited about the Dairy Queen that just opened.

    1. I think it was already open when we got here, but I still can't believe how much business they do here.

  6. Three Chick-Fil-A's locally. I can't sync food quality & price with their sales volume. I'll take Popeyes any day - or as my ESL wife used to call it "papaya".

    1. Started eating Chick-fil-a when the boycott began; became a huge fan. Tried Popeye's just once, out of curiosity. Threw most of it away; it was horrible. I had brought it to my brother's house for dinner, and no-one liked it. Even the sides were terrible. KFC for fried chicken; Chick-fil-a for sammiches.

  7. Sales volume could have something to do with good tasting food plus non-woke Christian company principles. But that’s just my opinion.

    1. The polite service brought tears to my eyes when I first tried Chick-fil-a. Reminded me of Disneyland, back before the employees (formerly called "cast members") became rude a-holes who find customers (formerly called "guests") a time-wasting bother.

  8. A guy bugged me to go on a motorcycle ride. I ride alone but finally gave in. He was in lead and pulled into a Taco Bell. I said you actually eat here? He said, it's good. We went in, he ordered, I said gimme what he ordered. I bit into what ever it was and it was ice cold. I told him and he said take it back up and tell them ta heat it somemore. I said, I'll pass and damn if he didn't eat my meal cold. First time and the last time. For taco bell and riding with somebody else.

  11. Tacoma, WA has Taco Time. Much better than Taco Bell, or, at least it was in the '70's.

  12. I have been to food plants that supply "meat" to Taco Bell. Bags and bags of processed ingredients - no beef to be seen.
