No more fun for you!

ALBANY, N.Y. - Some historical battle re-enactors in New York are holding their musket fire because of worries over the state's new gun rules — an unplanned side effect of a law designed to protect the public's safety.

The law that went into effect this month declares parks, government property and a long list of other "sensitive" places off limits to guns. The rules were geared more for semiautomatic pistols than flintlock weapons, but re-enactors who fear being arrested if they publicly re-stage battles from the colonial era to the Civil War are staying off the field.

  1. A Rubber Band gun is a gun. You'll be locked up with the January Six crowd that, for some weird reason, never brought a gun to 'overthrow' the 'government'.

  2. Yeah; this is like the "hands-free only" law that went into effect in California a while back. It was intended to curb the use of cell phones in cars. Unfortunately, "hands-free only" was very vaguely defined. It ended up catching CB and ham radio microphone use in the law's net, even though mobile ham radio use is EXEMPT from things like this, per FEDERAL law. ...That never stopped the likes of Newsom and his predecessor, Moonbeam Brown...

  3. More unintended consequences is Veterans groups will not be doing 21 gun salutes as the law as no exceptions.

  4. The Boos and Reaks are exempt of course.

  5. Reminds me of when Arizona offered a buyback program for vehicles with excessive pollution output. So many people in anticipation had gone to salvage yards and purchased pollution spewing diesel vehicles and got reconstruction titles for them, turned them in, and bought brand new golf carts (think Sun City) and other new vehicles with the proceeds. The state legislature had to hold an emergency meeting to cancel the program before it even went 24 hours. I love that shit.

  6. hahaha, too funny - a "re-enactment" of freedom-fighters, but featuring actor patriots who are too skeered to bring their props onto the stage, hahahahha ! Who writes this stuff ?
