Portland to burn (again) in 3... 2... 1...

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The mayor of Portland, Oregon, plans to ban camping on city streets and move unhoused people to designated campsites, as the growing homeless population has become the top concern for the vast majority of residents.

  1. This country absolutely does not have a homeless problem.
If it did, our benevolent government would not be bringing in millions of illegals.

  2. That will end well. Course the rest of use will be following soon.

  3. The mayor announced plans to open new centers AFTER they get funding. So it is pure bafflegab to make it sound like he is doing something but nothing will change for months, if ever.

They are all suckers for a sob story over there.

  8. They already export homeless to eastern Oregon - a lot of them get off the bus in Pendleton or LaGrande, because they need their drug fix, and wind up in the hospital for observation after law enforcement contacts

  9. I agree that Portland is doomed and they will reap what they sow. I have looked inito this declaration, and I believe this is said only to garner support for the upcoming election. On closer study, the city claims to end homelessness and will establishd approved campsites. But what will happen if a random crazy meth head attempts to set up camp in his old site, a non-designated area... "a citation will be issued." So, this translates that nothing will be done and nothing will change from the current libeal policy of letting the vagrants run the city.

  10. Portland's mayor abdicated power a year ago. The local government is no longer in control of the city. Pretending that it can suddenly jump up and create order out of the chaos that was allowed to reign for months is not going to end well. For anyone. Keep watching. People are going to die and the bloodbath will belong to the Democrats. The allowed this disease to rise and fester. They will also be responsible for the aftermath.

  11. Ted Wheeler, trust fund baby of a timber baron.
Loggers, don't let your babies grow up to be chickified Democrat politicians.

  12. 3000 homeless in Portland. The centers will serve 125. So, only 2,775 to go!

  13. There's some court ruling that says they can't ban sleeping on the streets unless there's shelter space available.

Hence this plan to create camps where all the homeless can be concentrated.

  14. No one's got the stones to run against him and that dirtbag DA that created that anarchist mess?

  15. So... Ted Wheeler is going to concentrate the homeless in camps? This sounds eerily familiar to earlier events. Has some sort of Portland "Wannsee Conference" happened? Maybe Ted Wheeler can come up with a final solution to this vexing homeless problem.
