Reminds me of that asshole dog Jack

I felt sorry for him because his pads were all tore up, so I went and spent something like 44 bucks for one that's padded so well I could lay on it with feeling the floor. It was months before he slept on it.

  1. Wife buys new $50 bed for the cat. The cat prefers an old cardboard box from an amazon delivery 2 years ago. .

  2. had a sweetheart mix pit. she was great for the most part. like you bought her a really nice bed. one of those suspended ones. she chewed a hole in it and would sleep in the hole ?
butt on the floor, head thru the hole. but when she got a bit older, she started sleeping on the bed. except when the wood stove was on. then she parked her ass in front of it.

  3. My dog and all my dogs have always slept on the floor right beside me. I put down rugs for everyone of them and none of em ever used the rug. I don't do carpet, never have. Only hardwood floors and tile in kitchen and bathrooms. The first home I owned was a trailer. I swore I'd never do carpet again.

  4. Put that bed somewhere the dog can observe and not be seen.
Someplace quite and out of the way.
Like your own cabin in the woods.

    1. He sleeps on it now. He liked laying on the floor next to my bed because I'd occasionally reach down and scratch him.
Now he lays on the floor until I go to sleep, but if I get up in the middle of the night, he's flopped out on the pad.

  5. Most dogs prefer hard, firm floors to lie on. Especially if they're older with arthritis. I see this all the time in my boarding kennel. We give them nice, thick beds to sleep on and they choose the hard cement floor. Of course, in winter, the floor is heated with water pipes coursing through so that's probably a factor. But I know when my back is bothering me, sitting on the couch or recliner not nearly as comfy as the hard floor. I think that plays a role, especially in older dogs.

    1. That asshole dog Jack's favorite thing to do now is to drag his pad over to the floor vent and park it on top of that so he stays either nice and cool or warm, while I either sweat or freeze my ass off, depending on the season.

    2. Do you, by any chance, know why cats like boxes? I get it when they are trying to hide, pouring out of a small box in the middle of the room?

    3. For cats it's less security (the reason dog's like "dens" or crates) and more the predator in them. They're hidden and ready to pounce at the first meal (or leg) that walks by their blind.

  6. When started Security Staff sleeping in the house, got him a nice bed. He'd sleep on the rug. So brought in his old, small bed and he'd curl up as tiny as could on it. Got him a bigger bed so he could stretch out, and for weeks he wouldn't set foot on it unless you made him.

  7. My dog destroyed hers on day one. All teeth and very little brain.

  8. My little bobby dawg sleeps on everything in the living room. He has a bed in front of the entertainment system and uses it sometimes but there's the love seat, so he can look out the front window, an Ikea chair so he can look out the front door, mama's recliner, usually when she's on it, he does like to snuggle with his mama. I've now got a fancy Scandinavian leather and chrome swivel/ rocker thing that he's tried out but it moves around too much.
At night he sleeps with us. That started when we hit the road in our travel trailer with him the first time, it was December and the floor was cold so we put him on the bed with us and the cat, that was 2018.
