NEW YORK - The NYPD is concerned about a growing way for criminals to escape their brazen and at times heinous crimes: motorized scooters and mopeds. Police say the getaway vehicles are hard to stop.
An unarmed population is just a target rich victim pool. The riff raff will keep coming up with new methods to commit crime while the fuzz is two or six steps behind. This numbskull "analyst" PhD whatever is a perfect illustration. He thinks the NYPD needs to form a unit that deals specifically with crime using scooters and dirt bikes for getaways. Riiiiight. By the time such a unit is discussed, researched, focus grouped, designed, budgeted for, recruited, equipped, formed, trained and somehow starts approaching some sort of efficiency, the ne'er-do-wells will be on the next innovation. If these thugs were faced with a good possibility that they would come down with an extremely acute case of lead poisoning, they would rethink that shit quick, like yesterday. 2A
The "tag team on a motor bike" thing is a very common modus operandi for street robbery in South America, particularly Brazil.
