FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A U.S. judge in Texas on Thursday blocked President Joe Biden’s plan to provide millions of borrowers with up to $20,000 apiece in federal student-loan forgiveness — a program that was already on hold as a federal appeals court in St. Louis considers a separate lawsuit by six states challenging it.
Don't matter now. It got the Dems throught the mid-terms. Mission accomplished because, that's all it was meant for. Ray Ban Joe and his peutrid pals knew the give away was illegal from the get-go.
ReplyDeleteIt does matter.
ReplyDeleteNo, it can't affect the fact that tuition prices rose as fast as they did, but it definitely will affect future tuition rate increases. The current generation can maybe be forgiven for thinking that they should not screw over future generations, but that's what is at stake. And unlike the relatively small numbers that older generations have bestowed unto mostly the rich, in this case, it's massive, and going to be directed mostly towards the poor.
I guess if you are an accelerationist, this is a good thing. I'm just not thrilled with screwing my grandkids for something stupid my kid's generation did. (Note, I did not say my kids. We opted to live well within our means because we were told 30 years ago college would be at least $100k, so my kids did without vacations, cable, cars, etc., so they could graduate debt free. Guess we were suckers, eh?)
I notice this decision came after the election.
