Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses a very little known rule, and one that often times is inadvertently violated, which is that we must obtain ATF permission BEFORE we transport most NFA items across state lines. Even for a temporary relocation like taking a firearm to another state for target practice will required ATF approval IF the firearm is a NFA regulated item such as a short barrel rifle or short barrel shotgun. However, and this is very important, the rule DOES NOT require prior approval to take a suppressor/silencer across state lines. Today we break this all down for you including ATF Form 5320.20 which is the form that must be completed and approved each time before an NFA item can be transported across state lines. Learn what all of this means to you and arm yourself with education today.

And this from Richard and the lovely Miss Emily over at the Armed Attorneys regarding rule changes concerning flying with firearms and ammo.
The TSA has updated its travel guidelines and fine timelines. Specifically, when it comes to traveling with firearms and ammunition. The Armed Attorneys Richard Hayes and Emily Taylor discuss what clarifications were made, which changes, and how they might affect gun owners.
Eric Holder never had to worry about this.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder:
ReplyDeletehad someone been carrying on 9/11/2001, would we have had 3,000+ deaths
had someone been carrying on 12/7/93 aboard that Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train when Colin Ferguson began firing at other passengers
just wondering...
Those events not happening would have gravely disappointed our government.
DeleteAnd the government that controls our government.
DeleteI called ATF before moving to WV with my three cans. No actual paperwork or permission for them. Pretty much all other NFA items, you’ll have a few hoops to jump through. I think they just want your $200 for silencers. None of them are Hollywood quiet, but they will save your hearing and keep the neighbors neighborly. Eod1sg Ret
ReplyDeleteI was denied by the ATF to take an SBR to a class in Idaho because I put "IVO Idaho Falls" as the address. Got the denial back three weeks after I attended the class, lol.
DeleteSounds suspiciously like infringing to me.
ReplyDeletenot watching the vid to see if he mentions it but if you're going to the same place regularly - range, class, competition, friend, etc..., you can fill out the form with from and to dates 1 year apart and you're' set for the whole year. lather, rinse, repeat as needed.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they take a while to answer, quickest I've ever gotten a response was two weeks, longest was five weeks, I took a date stamped, notarized copy of the request each time just in case.
