SF DA refuses to turn over alleged Pelosi attacker to feds, citing sanctuary city policy

The US Department of Homeland Security wants to deport the illegal immigrant accused of assaulting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer.

However, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Thursday that she will refuse to turn the suspect over to ICE officials citing the San Francisco's sanctuary city policies which ban departments and officials from assisting immigration officers with detentions or deportations.

  3. Why is this poor victim of society still in jail, he only had a hammer, not a gun. We shouldn't be judgemental. SF should be consistent and set him free on no bail, with a future date to appear in court. It's only just. He's merely trying to fit in with our culture and seek a better life for himself after all.

Free DePape! He deserves a 2nd chance.........

    1. Yes, this was my first take also, but in detail, they are protecting him from being deported AFTER he serves any time from the state charges, which could be lengthy. I don't get it.

  7. Just guessing here... the perp will stay shielded long enough to get him on the "underground railroad" up to Canada. Everyone will refuse to extradite. If he was just a rental, no one would protect him. Therefore, he is more than a rental. Something most definitely is up with this. What possible motive could there be for various sorts to protect this guy?
