“The concept is to get youth in here and do some of the firearms in a safe environment, controlled environment,” Davis said. “Actually, Brian Webb came up with the idea years ago they started doing fishing nine years ago, then I started with bows two years ago, and this year, we’re introducing farms."
Jaycees ran a gun safety with Daisy for kid 8-16. I Don't know if Jaycees still do the program.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia just passed a law prohibiting anything that the state apparatchiks could deem to be a promotion of the shooting sports or gun safety that they perceive to be aimed at anyone under 18. Any violation of said new state law is punishable with a fine of $25,000 per violation. It has every gun safety organization completely seized up for fear of being bankrupted by the powers that be in California.
ReplyDeleteThis absurd law also has gun organizations and groups closing website chat rooms that might even be remotely perceived as appealing to young people interested in the shooting sports.
People in states like Kentucky should be thankful they live in a Free State and fight any attempt to be taken over by Leftists that would love to destroy their culture. That means donating generously to state and local gun rights groups where you live.
In other words put your money where your mouths are, before it's too late.
Not surprising; once they've devastated the Second Amendment, they feel free to do the same thing to the First Amendment.
DeleteYeah they've been working pretty hard on the first also. They coincide.
Delete....and this year, we’re introducing farms."
ReplyDeleteI never realized farms were more dangerous than bows.
I guess that's how you pronounce firearms in the south. That's how it's sounds here in Texas anyway.
DeleteUsed to do BB guns for cub scouts and 22 rifles for Boy Scouts. The 20 gauge shotguns as they got older. Course that was before they allowed girls. Now sling shots would be on the naughty list.
ReplyDeleteI've bought several firearms there. Good people. In PA we had the Youth Field Days in most counties that introduced kids to hunting and fishing. The youngsters shot flintlocks, rimfire rifles and shotguns. We let moms shoot as well.
ReplyDeleteI volunteer as a 4-H shooting sports instructor. We promote youth development and safety through firearms and archery. We instruct the youth in rifle, archery, pistol, shotgun, muzzle loader and crossbow. They each choose one of the disciplines and complete a project book on that discipline. Along with that we meet once per week for safety tracing and range time in the discipline.
