Saw that in Outdoor Life (I think) back in about '74, and thought that was the coolest knot ever. Really easy, and the article said the knot is 95% as strong as the string itself, which is amazing. It's pretty much all I've used on tackle since.
For some reason, I never considered fishing when looking at #3. And I am 62. It must have something to do with the fact that I have a brother that is 7 years older than me, that I shared a bedroom with. He worked 3rd shift, while I was in high school, so I got to look at all of his pornographic books, like Playboy, Hustler, etc. Some of us began our education early, and still have not stopped our love of the female body.
#15 is just wrong, Man...funny but Oh so wrong
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that after reading all about knots, watching the YouTube videos, I never saw that knot? I'm gonna be using #3.
ReplyDeleteIt's a palomar knot.

Delete@Justin - also a fisherman and first time I have seen that knot as well.
Delete#3 is used to tie a hook on. Have used it to pull up a boot and a tire.
