According to BuzzFeed News, Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice held a press conference in which he stated that the men were last seen leaving Billy Chastain’s house around 8 p.m. on bicycles “pulling trailers.” The men, whom police described as close friends, might have been up to no good when they went missing on Oct. 9.
Based on a witness’s information provided to the police, the victims planned to commit “some type of criminal act” when they left the house. The witness told investigators that the men were planning to “‘hit a lick’ big enough for all of them,” Prentice said, BuzzFeed News reports.
“They needed killin” is a very real phenomenon in that neck of woods.
ReplyDeleteBut will an Okie jury agree that stealing from a junkyard is a sufficient reason to invoke this? And dismembering the bodies puts the suspect in a bad light... (Too lazy to dig a big hole, bury them, and shift some junk around to hide the fresh-turned earth?)
DeleteNothing worse than thieves except pedophiles and maybe communists. Fuck it they’re equal.

ReplyDeleteThose guys looked like they had careers in meth and stealing copper.
ReplyDeleteAll they wanted were hub caps for their vintage cars.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an episode of 'Trailer Park Boys.' (One of my favorite low-life comedies.)
ReplyDeleteLot of people there saying, "I knew they'd turn out no good." Probably not a single, "He had just started turning his life around." Lazy people put a lot of energy and effort in doing bad things, when the same energy pointed right could have bettered everybody around them. Preachy? Yeah. Usually some truth in it.

ReplyDeleteFrom the article, evidently this isn't the suspect's first rodeo. Also wanted on a 2012 murder.
ReplyDeleteRemember now, the suspect is innocent until proven guilty. He might have had some other reason to steal a car and flee to Florida, coincidentally right after the cops began to suspect that the dead guys last act was stealing from his junkyard.
