NYC murders increase 20 percent as overall crime falls

NEW YORK - New figures released by the NYPD show that overall crime in New York City dropped slightly in November compared to a year ago but the number of murders spiked.

Overall crime decreased 1.2% year over year. Three of the seven major index-crime categories saw decreases, driven by a 14.1% decrease in rape, a 6.0% decrease in burglary, and a 5.5% decrease in grand larceny.

  1. As we allow society to flounder, we allow our country to decay. Fight back, don’t allow this to happen.

  2. I think what bothers me more than anything else is that you believe these statistics from the NYPD. It gives me the impressoin that you truly believe that Joe Biden won the 2020 election, too!

  3. Overall crime falls because there's no point calling the police.
Either the police don't come, or they don't arrest the suspect because it's a minor crime. If arrested, he'll be let out the same day on personal recognizance, and the district attorney won't prosecute him, anyway. Vigilante justice will be the eventual result.

    1. Also decriminalizing crime so you, as the government, doesn't have to report it anymore. Great way to drop your crime rate down. After all, it's how most of Europe records their crimes or not crimes as it may be.

    2. Exactly! Kinda hard to hide the bodies in the streets.

  4. It's like anything those people say anymore. The murders make the news so the cops have to count them. All the other crimes just don't get reported anymore to anything like the extent back under Guliani when people actually thought the cops would follow-up, investigate, arrest, detain, and move them to the justice system. They stopped believing that a long time ago.

  5. The murder rate is up because no one is reporting crime, they are taking care of it themselves.

  8. So Alvin Bragg is right; crime is down under his watch. (Except for the murders.)
