Period poverty.....

BATON ROUGE - A national issue is also being seen here in Louisiana — a lack of access to feminine hygiene products.

"It's a human issue, and it's also a public health issue," said Deidra Mwalimu, founder of the Network of Women NOW. "After COVID with the shutdown, the access to period products increased, so students do lack the opportunity to have access to products and food at the same time."

Feminine hygiene products have been especially difficult for college students to find. The non-profit Network of Women created a campaign in October to 'End Period Poverty'.

  2. Shouldn't be that hard to find. They are putting them in both genders' rest rooms these days.

    1. I was going to say, check the mens room. Explains the shortage, too.

  3. I guess the Gimme Dats don't want to pay Amazon to get their period supplies?

Odd how everywhere I shop the ladies section seems well supplied. Maybe it's a Nawlins problem?

  5. If this is not already a "national problem," it soon will be. TV'd a few times and it's a nationwide shortage.

  7. temporary solution for this problem would be ...get preggers... won't need them things for about 9 months. by then the shortage should be over. just be sure the baby daddy is well off enough to keep you off welfare
