I have an 1898 Springfield. Not my favorite, but the side box allows for reloading with the bolt closed, so no problems if a yote appears during a reload. Ammo is hard to get thanks to Barry and Joe and if you find it, it will be more than double -06 boomstick feed.
My father had one, and a 303 British. He used them for hunting deer. If I remember right, the

Damn, that's a shame, gettin' kilt with your great-grandpappy's war rifle. Wonder if they're gonna melt it down?
