Rob the bank - Federal crime. Rob the customer - State crime

HOUSTON – Frightening moments of a robbery outside a northwest Houston bank were captured on surveillance video and released to the public in hopes someone will recognize the suspect involved, according to the Houston Police Department Robbery Division.

  2. For a minute there, I was wondering why HPD was involved if it was a federal crime, but the bank wasn't robbed, only a customer. If state or local police can't enforce federal law at the border, they shouldn't enforce it anywhere else.

  3. They'll never catch him if they don't say what his skin color is. I don't think it will be too hard to solve this case if we only had just a wee bit more information..........Merry Christmas!

    1. Tell me you didn't bother to read the story without telling me you didn't bother to read the story. It included video of the robbery and robber, doofus. What more do you want?

  5. I'm gonna go with inside job here as well. That or just really really bad luck combined with cluelessness. Some years back, before direct deposit, I had my crew go to the bank and sign off on me cashing their paychecks for them. We were all out of town, got off too late for the bank hours. I would go in with 30 or so endorsed paychecks, usually around $60 grand or so in cash.
Girls behind the counter knew I would be coming in, and about when. A very seamless operation after a few weeks. As they would hand me each envelope of cash I just slipped it into the front of my shirt.
Unless someone was really watching quite closely on a regular basis they would never have known I was walking out loaded.

  7. Yep, welcome to Willowhood. It used to be Willowbrook, but diversity and all have sped it along to what it is now. I’ve lived in this area for over 35 years and every year it gets worse or it seems that way. That bank is not even 3 miles from my house. Yay.
