ATF Unveils Pistol Brace Rule…Everything Is An SBR!

WASHINGTON, D.C. -(Ammoland.com)- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) released its final rule surrounding pistol stabilizing devices killing off the market for the items unless court challenges prove successful.

The new rule (ATF final rule 2021R-08F) was published on the ATF’s website today and is set to be posted on the Federal Register on Monday, one day before the industry’s largest trade show, SHOT Show. The regulation will affect millions of Americans that currently own pistol stabilizing devices. What has been considered pistols for years will now be regarded as short barreled rifles (SBR) and be subjected to the National Firearms Act (NFA).

  2. So shocked that socialist bureaucrats would interpret rules to give themselves (and the state) more power. Also shocked that leftists would twist rules past the breaking point in order to advance their agenda.

    Next!

Nullification at the state, county, and personal level is the only way to make any real progress on these issues. The feds are too deeply corrupt to be worth saving. Ignore them.

  3. mcsgearup.com sells a short buffer tube kit that is only a few inches long that should make your pistol legal under the new rule. Rounding it out with a single point should work. If you hang on to your old tube and brace, you could reinstall if the rule is overturned.

    1. Just watch whether they would rule having the parts is the same as having the parts installed. Done it before.

  4. This smells like it will be struck down as soon as it goes to court.

    1. Yeah, it should be. But the SCOTUS should have heard the challenges to the fraud 2020 election too. They didn't because they won't do their jobs. They wanted those jobs, but not the responsibility that came with them. Clarence Thomas is the only jewel their.

    2. A law repugnant to the Constitution is null and void. Treat it as if it never existed.

I reckon this applies also to regulations from unelected bureaucrats hell bent and dead set against The People.

Who gives ATF agents license to carry that which they seek to deny to the people?
Why, they themselves do, of course.

  5. I would like to believe that it will be struck down since it effects 10-40 million folks.
That's just way too many to be allowed to stand.
But they're F@*King commies and that's what they want...

  7. "The new regulation is expected to cost gun owners over $260 million. It is expected to cost the federal government over $3 million." -- it all costs the taxpayer, there is no "cost the federal government".

  9. The way I figure it is that they have all my info when I bought my guns. They can contact me directly if they have a problem.

  11. i knew this crap was coming the day they came out with it. my question though is why allow it until millions of people buy them, then ban it? i just put long barrels on a couple of mine, took the brace off others.i look for them to go after those shorty shotguns next.
