So. A guy shoots himself in the leg, and THEN waits around for the police to arrive instead of going to the hospital? Sounds like the sort of person who doesn't own a car. Then EMT applies a Tourniquet? If he hasn't bled to death by the time EMT arrives, he is likely already safe to transport to the hospital.
With all due respect my friend - as a former EMT you're probably right but a tourniquet is helpful to slow the flow to clot it up - if released properly it's a great tool. Used incorrectly it does more damage - in the end, if they bleed out, then none of it mattered so....
I probably wouldn't drive myself to the hospital - if enough blood for EMT to apply tourniquet then chances are good I'd pass out and kill others when driving to hospital. I wasn't there so it's all speculation...
I have to LOL bc I monitor EMS radio and you wouldn't believe the BS people call ambulances for (real calls) - been feeling ill for 4 days or fever for 2 days, or pain in their side for a week kinda BS - I listen and think wtf, go to an urgent care or doc office - instead they use ER room and ambulances for transport (because it's FREE).
In ATL, they'd call "da bambulance" to get a ride to Grady hospital bc liq store was right around the corner. thanks BOcare - that only works if you don't.
I worked an ambulance crew in the back country. The lead would call in a chopper 'cause they didn't want to drive all the way into town. Play in the blood but leave the mundane to someone else.
How does one discharge a firearm when cleaning it? And if it was a Glock, or any magazine-fed semiautomatic, why would the magazine be inserted while “cleaning”? Moreover, the weapon would have to be cocked as well. “Cleaning the pistol” sounds like a dumbass excuse for stupidity.
From what I understand, you have to pull the trigger on a Glock (or clone) to disassemble the gun. Maybe he dropped the magazine but didn't rack the slide, or maybe he did and the round in the chamber failed to eject.
3 safeties on a Glock, one trigger, two internal. They fire when asked to; they are reliable. As for no external safety; I agree- I prefer a backstrap safety, or a thumb safety. So, my glock is never unholstered, unless cleaning or firing.
"Make sure gun is unloaded" says every fucking manual that comes with every gun that sold. And if you bought it used without a manual, write the manufacturer & they'll send you one. Same people that push on the door with a "pull" sign, but much more dangerous. Just as likely to shoot someone else.

I have heard of more negligent discharges with them. they will fire with the magazine out and have no safety.
