NEW YORK (PIX11) — Three NYPD officers were attacked by a machete-wielding assailant who was swiftly shot by police near Times Square on New Year’s Eve, officials said.
A 19-year-old assailant attacked three police officers at West 52nd Street and Eighth Avenue around 10:11 p.m., according to Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell.
Heh. They missed the part where an officer was hit by a police car while moving barricades so the car could get to the scene. Dindu 3, cops 1. Pretty awesome job, and while even hitting the suspect at all is good shooting for NYPD the shoulder isn't very close to center mass at the likely involved distance . Steve S6
Perhaps if they spent more time closely monitoring or spying on these known persons instead of the white supremacists, concerned parents or other BS they might maybe prevent some of this shit. Not fond of them spying, at at least do it on those that seem most realistically likely to do something and not your fooking boogeymen.
Did I miss the part where they mention the demographic background of the assailant?
Oh. Wait. Maybe this is a clue... “We believe this was a sole individual at this time,” said Mike Driscoll, FBI. “We’re not aware of any ongoing threat.” So, the assailant was obviously not White. If he had been Mike would have proudly proclaimed "This was obviously a case of Right-Wing extremism, which is a serious and ongoing threat to America's national security".
