Most jewelry stores empty their cases at closing and put the merchandise in a secure safe and fill the display cases with costume jewelry and sometimes a GPS tag.
I had some addict (it's the excuse he told the cops later) break into my place and steal my pyrite samples. Left the gold ore behind. These types aren't the brightest bulbs in the bunch.

DeleteI've found that it helps if you're a decent human being, but I've been wrong before.
ReplyDeleteEmptying the cases isn't optional. If you want to have insurance, it is required.
