According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), the men, identified as Keith Koehler II, 39, St. Peter, IL, who was the driver, and Tyler Judd, 40, Faurina, IL., who was a passenger, were buried under around two feet of snow when rescuers arrived several hours later.
Both Koehler and Judd were pronounced dead at the scene.

DeleteI talked with a highway guy about I-80 through Wyoming. He said in the old days the roads followed the land and took advantage of the terrain to minimize snow cover. Interstates just forge ahead in a straight line with snow impacts unimagined in the past
ReplyDeleteThat area is home to some brutal big rig wrecks in the winter. There’s a reason that there’s gates with forced road closures on most of the side highways and snow fences everywhere.!
