COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (WMC) - Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) have been called in to investigate a shooting at the Academy Sports on New Byhalia Road.
Multiple shots fired, no one hit. On the one hand, I'd day the cops need more training. On the other hand, suspecting what is coming our way, I'm kinda glad the bastards don't know how to shoot.
Maybe, maybe not. The perpetrators had to abandon the car a block or so later, and were quickly caught at the local Starbucks (of all places). Not a bad result in the end.
Shooting at the driver. Handgun rounds through windshields do not travel in a straight line so I'd give a pass on that. Plus depending on the round they're issued performance through windshields can be compromised. Steve S6
The officer wasn't firing at a shoplifting suspect. He was shooting at an individual attempting to kill him. The real problem is that he missed on multiple tries.
Depending on if the parking area is considered the stores property, and depending on local shoplift contact policy, it is allowed and even encouraged to tackle em if they run. That's why they carry cuffs. I see no problem... I have tackled people for a corporate entity before.
Joggers, no doubt....

ReplyDeleteAt that point, yeah. But the cop was trying to catch the shoplifter, everywhere else they'd just let him go.
DeleteSaw a Best Buy security guy tackle a (I guess) shoplifter in the parking lot. I bet he wouldn't be allowed to do that any more.

DeleteJust down the street from where we used to live. Glad to have left the Memphis area
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the Memphis Bad Actors are expanding their territory.
DeleteJust call Turner or Dean Wingo. Since they own the town, quick results.
