I can only imagine the terror they felt

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – Several Edmond residents discovered gushing water in their front yard Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but their outdoor faucet wasn’t broken nor frozen over. Instead, it was the work of the ‘Wet Bandit.’

  1. So, someone is turning on outside water faucets and these people are afraid to go outside and are stacking chairs to block their entry doors? If confronted with a 'ding dong ditch' hooligan they might actually die.

  3. Must be a slow news day in Oklahoma.

  4. Poor journalism - article states "Edmond Police told News 4 they have identified the ‘Wet Bandit’ as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Edmond Police Department Public Information Officer, Emily Ward said there’s only one person pursuing charges so far." BUT no name or description is given.

Edmond OK is home to OU (Oklahoma Univ) so maybe just a college prank.

  5. Time for some new anti-outdoor-faucet laws.

  6. Several years ago, there was a LE memo distributed to our ER staff regarding attacks precipitated by the sounds of a crying baby outside your door at night, or your outside faucets being turned on. Resident goes outside to investigate, and gets jumped. Not sure if it's still a thing?

    1. I've got a gun on my hip every waking moment and any time I go out to investigate a weird noise, it's in my hand.
My area is low crime, but we're also a half hour away from the sheriff's department.

    2. never really could understand why folks don't carry on their own property, or in their own home. Even stupid criminals know that is where you're most likely to let your guard down - and where the things you value most are kept...

    3. Me either. Home is where you absolutely need to have a gun within reach at all times.
When I get up in the morning I put my pants on, pick up my gun off my nightstand and holster it, then I go put my coffee on, brush my teeth, and wash my face before getting dressed the rest of the way.

  7. Not particularly fearful but I keep my eyes open. On several occasions- at home and on the road, I have had to unholster.
Side note: Interstate rest areas are not necessarily safe zones.
Solo dry camping can be dangerous too.
    So be careful.

  8. That's why you have a shutoff valve in your basement...comes in handy for winter if you have a drain valve to go with it.
