Bob Boze Bell tells the truth about the Battle of Northfield on September 7, 1876 when the James-Younger Gang went face-to-face with the Townsmen of Northfield and lost possibly as a result of alcohol.
I always thought they lost because they were stupid and undisciplined. Never forget that 50% of the men in this country had served in the Civil War. They weren't afraid of a bunch of outlaws and they knew how to shoot. That is one reason I have never enjoyed movies where outlaws "treed" a town. Never happened.
