That's a hell of a mistake there, Governor

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D)’s projected budget deficit of $22.5 billion may have been too low by $7 billion, according to a report last week by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO).

As Fox News notes, Newsom told Californians last month to expect a $22.5 billion deficit in the coming fiscal year — after a surplus of $100 billion, driven in part by federal grants for coronavirus relief spending.

  1. The $7B error isn't the issue; the issue is a $30B deficit after blowing through $130B.
Oh, well; just raise taxes some more.

    1. Great news! The woman who was head of the CA Deptartment of Labor during the time EDD got scammed out of $32 billion, has been picked by Joe Biden to become his new Labor Secretary. She's undergoing confirmation hearings right now. Her name is Julie Su. She has a JD from Harvard!

The Progs are all atwitter because they feel Biden needs more AAPI people in his administration.
The heck with the fact that she's a complete failure as an administrator. What's important is that she's an Asian complete failure! Diversity!

  2. I guess it cost him more than he thought it would to survive the recall and actually be RE-ELECTED! As many Leftwingers have found out, poor votes are cheap to buy. That may be so, but to pay off enough welfare bums, street bums, and illegal aliens to buck the MILLIONS of people out here who wanted Newsom HUNG, He obviously had to max out the credit cards. I have YET to find ANYONE who voted for that idiot!

    1. It doesn't matter who gets the votes, only who counts them.

  3. Remember, soon after the pedo occupied the White House, fedgov gave Billions to the states to erase their deficits caused by socialist pograms.

This current deficit in CA is from less than two years of overspending. And they couldn't even get the numbers straight.

John Morehouse, the *only* CPA in the CA state legislature was booted out of office in 2020. This even though he was very popular in his district. Shady election shenanigans did him in. He used to write a regularly published newsletter keeping his constituents, and the state as a whole, well informed of state spending. A lot of the grifters did not like that, naturally.

    1. John Morehouse is a perfect example of why the state is doomed. A great legislator and genuine good guy who didn't stand a chance because the Left was out to get him. Now he can't even get elected dogcatcher. His thanks for telling the truth.

A competent fiscal manager in Sacramento? Can't have that. Nobody under the Golden Dome can get rich that way.

Also interesting is that since 2020 700,000 taxpaying citizens have left the state. I wonder if that might have something to do with the current budget woes. But you'll never hear that part of the story from mainstream media. According to them, everything is peachy keen. That's especially true from what the cheerleaders at KCRA 3 say. State run media.

    2. Don't worry, they are voting hard to turn their new state into California 2.0

    3. That's not necessarily true. In Texas, California ex-pats vote more conservatively that current Texas residents do.
The idiots that approve of and vote for the current crap going on here in CA tend to stay in California. They're too stupid to leave and are so stupid that they think Governor Gavie is groovy and is doing a great job. And that must be true. It's on the evening news every night.

  4. Pelosi was always happy to send billions to the cities of CA. The gravy train at that level is gone at least for a year. Mccarthy will start it up soon. He has to put on a front in the beginning.

  5. Missed it by THAT much. Maxwell Smart would've been a much better Gov.

  6. Does that include the express train to nowhere?
Or did they finally stop shoveling millions into it?

    1. It's still happening. I think it was the Sacramento Bee a couple of weeks ago that ran a puff piece about it claiming it will soon be creating twice as many construction jobs as was originally estimated it would.
In California, doubling down on stupid is standard operating procedure.

    2. Oh, and that would be billions, not millions.

  7. Based on his prowess at managing the California budget, I think Governor "Slick" is the leading candidate for President in 2024!
