Bill to remove permitless carry legislation in Nashville, Memphis fails

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A bill to remove permitless carry legislation in Nashville and Memphis has failed to pass at the Tennessee State Capitol.

“Bodies are dropping left and right every day,” said Senator London Lamar (D), representing District 33 in Memphis. “I’m sick of hearing gunshots in my neighborhood.”

Lawmakers leading the effort said it was a way to address the “out of control” gun violence in Tennessee’s urban communities and would reinstate the previous carry regulations. Senator Lamar said the previous legislation had stricter regulations, background checks and gun safety education.

Does this idiot really believe that by changing the law back to needing a permit to carry is going to have any effect at all?
The thugs and hood rats in her district weren't going down and undergoing background checks or taking the required safety class to begin with, what makes her think they would if the law was changed?

  1. Most people don't understand crime or criminals. They know most people are generally good, and generally follow the laws. So those groups that don't follow the laws they don't know how to deal. Their response will be "wait but that's illegal you can't do that." It's why they double down on "gun free zones". If we make it illegal, nobody will be able to bring a gun here.

  3. Sadly most people are emotionally driven reactors. If people were mostly critical thinkers commercials on TV wouldn't exist. Always has been, always will be and the elite control freaks know it. BTW: London Lamar is a female Black who is looking to ignore all her illegal gunslinger Bros and disarm the law abiding Chucks.

    Freedom from infringement.

  5. It always amuses me that people think that criminals who aren't following the law now will follow a new law.

  6. Automobiles cause death. I'd like to suggest that you pass a law to prevent anyone with any criminal history from ever driving an automobile or being in the front seat where they may have easy access to the steering wheel.
Try that one on your constitutents.

  7. The history of the Sullivan laws in New York speaks volumes about the effectiveness of removing guns from the hands of honest citizens. Chicago followed suit and you can see for yourself what a crime free utopia it became.

    1. The Sullivan law was effective as intended - it protected the gangs from honest citizens

  9. I'm amused that the gungrabbers won't refer to gun laws in place in 1791 when they try to defend their new gun legislation, but insist on using their Jim Crow-era laws.
