The Cracker Barrel restaurant and retail chain announced Monday that it will be closing its only remaining Portland locations, three of the remaining four locations in Oregon, seven months after it closed its Jantzen Beach store.
This follows an announcement from Walmart that it was closing its Portland area locations due to a lack of profits but some speculated that the decision was the result of rampant shoplifting.
Soft on crime, BLM, diversity...Got Dayuuumm, them liberals keep winning.
ReplyDeletePeople will put up with a lot, but when you can't keep honest employees, those that are willing to let merchandise go out the door are just as bad as those that steal. That, and people have a tendency to not want to go to work if it's too dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThe voter's reward.

ReplyDeleteThe perps of Seattle madness need a tattoo across their forehead for all to see. That way if they try to relocate they are easy to spot. Keep the wackos of the west in their ruined cities. Do not let them migrate and infect areas not influenced by their insane beliefs. FFF/22BOH eventually will apply for them, the african, the orc, and others.
ReplyDeleteWell when more product is stolen than sold that would certainly impact your profit margin. Lib cities are beginning to reap what they sow. I strongly suspect that “customers” at Cracker Barrel are abusing the staff as well as leaving without paying
ReplyDeleteMEH, the liberals see "cracker" in the company name and instantly jump to the conclusion it's a racist company and want it gone anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt boggles my mind the degree of disconnect some people have with real world situations. The phrase "This follows an announcement from Walmart that it was closing its Portland area locations due to a lack of profits" immediately followed by "but some speculated that the decision was the result of rampant shoplifting". The fact that so many people are ignorant about how business operates, that they can't see how rampant shoplifting affects the profitability of a store.
ReplyDeleteAlmost thought about retiring in what's now a hellhole. That was 15 or so years ago. Lived in eastern WA and went there for a long weekend every so often. Lots of great shopping, restaurants, etc. That was THEN.
ReplyDeleteHit a Cracker Barrel on last long trip thru NC. Should have known better; they've been getting worse and worse for years- this was the last straw. Restaurant mostly empty- "15 minute wait". By which they meant 20+. Crappy service. Food was damn near inedible (and this was breakfast- their so called strength). Relatively cheap, I will admit. We both left at least half of it, and got out. Unclear whether the problem was no cooks, no servers, or just general poor management.
ReplyDeleteNC more than a bit woke esp Ashville. Could be dying of DEI (pron. die).

Good for Cracker Barrel. However just once I'd love to see one of these company's CEO's get up in front of media microphones and tell them the truth as to why they unprofitable " Simply stated folks they're robbing the shit out of us!"
ReplyDeleteOregon drove these places out not only with the lax on crime - get more crime plan, but also with some of the country's most stringent covid lockdown rules.
ReplyDeleteProbably mandatory $20 minimum wages don’t help the restaurant business.
ReplyDelete"With that, we are saddened that we have been unable to overcome the impact the pandemic had on our business..." -- pandemic, new code word for niggs run amok.

Cracker Barrel closed? That's bad. But if the Waffle House closes, it's all over. That's a signal of a major disaster.
