Lawsuit in 3... 2... 1...

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A disabled couple told News 2 they feel trapped in their home after they say their homeowner’s association made them take down their wheelchair ramp.

It’s a situation that has residents in the Mt. Juliet Cedar Creek Commons neighborhood outraged.

“It’s just hard to move,” Nancy Hurst explained, saying she suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Her motorized wheelchair and her husband Lyle are keys to her livelihood.

  1. File charges against the HOA for violating the federal ADA.

    1. But put the ramp back in place first.

    2. And make sure the award bankrupts the HOA.

    3. The key with any illegitimate HOA claim is to not comply and let them sue you. In this case they would be out all of the money and could likely be countersued for damages.

  2. My thought as well. Play their cards right and .gov will pick up the tab. Ask that the HOA be dissolved. Win-win!

  4. From the article: "An employee of Sentry Management told News 2 the board is sensitive to the situation and that they did seek input from the association’s attorney." They're in deep shit, they only consulted the attorney to see just how deep it really is.

  5. The world would be a much better place without Karens in general and Karens at HOA's specifically.

  6. I'd sue the living SHIT out of the HOA and the Karens that run it.

  7. The way to dissolve an HOA like that is to submerge them in a vat of sulphuric acid.
