Lilly plans to slash some insulin prices, expand cost cap

(AP) - Eli Lilly will cut prices for some older insulins later this year and immediately give more patients access to a cap on the costs they pay to fill prescriptions.

The moves announced Wednesday promise critical relief to some people with diabetes who can face thousands of dollars in annual costs for insulin they need in order to live. Lilly’s changes also come as lawmakers and patient advocates pressure drug makers to do something about soaring prices.

  1. I recall Trump did something like this, immediately overruled by Maffia Joe. Now Maffia Joe can claim credit for something Trump did.

    1. Exactly. Pedo-Joe's White Horse is taking credit for what Trump did. Right before the last election, too. Slow reporting of the changes.

Which I am sure to let everyone know as I pick up my wife's prescription, something like, "Wow, the prices are back to where they were under Trump. So nice that Biden stopped that and prices went back to busting our account and eating cat-food levels. Even nicer for Biden, or whomever is behind Biden, to finally give the serfs and peasants a break."

Yes, I actually say that all the time, and I live in a leftist enclave in a conservative state. I'd move but we'd have to find new docs and pay for moving and all that.

    2. Beans, I pretty much say the same openly in public. Calm, even voice. Not ranting, but with forethought having selected my words to a few short sentences. Few words with enormous impact.

The majority of response is engaging and appreciative.

Keep standing bold in the truth. At the least it enciurages others.

    3. Right, cuz red states don't have doctors or moving companies!

  2. Gee, thanks. Insulin went from $100 to $200 to $300 then $500. The exact same Lilly insulin delivered from Canada (marked not for export) was $115 delivered to the door in the US. Basically, Lilly charged USA customers 5X the Canadian price. You know how you know insulin is not fake? It works…and your blood sugar is not high. Beware drug companies claiming to be doing you favors.

  3. So they graciously cap the price now that they have competition (I had to switch to the generic once it became available). What a swell bunch of guys, eh?
