House Republicans approved House Bill 50 in a party-line vote on Wednesday to repeal the state’s pistol purchase permit. The measure now heads to the Senate, which approved the same in a broader bill package last week.
Senate Bill 41 was also approved in a party-line vote to repeal the permit that requires approval from the respective 100 county sheriffs. SB 41 includes measures to allow concealed carry of firearms at religious services that share locations with private or charter schools, and to launch a two-year firearm safe storage awareness initiative, as well.

I'm surprised they didn't repeal that 'Mother-May-I' bullshit years ago.
It’s about time.
ReplyDeleteThe Democrat asshole governor Cooper will Veto it, but hopefull it'll be overridden by the Republicans Other news: They may OK medical marijuana.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think they have enough votes to override the veto.
Delete...but how exactly it’s accomplished remains unclear.
ReplyDeleteAYFKMRN? First, DELETE every single previous pistol permit every issued in the State system and all the accompanying data, just delete the whole thing, fucking period.
Then, just do the NICS like South Carolina, or Vermont, or Tennessee, Jesus fucking Christ, it's a no brainer! Oh, wait...
Be glad you don't live in Michigan. The Empress of Lansing is trying, along with her Democrat controlled legislature, to pass a bunch of BS gun laws. One of them is to require, in addition to the pistol purchase permit, a new permit to buy long guns, even from a private individual. That of course, would require registration of long guns, to get them in their database.
ReplyDeleteI don't wish any harm to Governor Whitless, but it is sad that those idiots who wanted to kidnap her, with the feds encouragement from within, did not accomplish their goal. Maybe she would have a better opinion about guns owned for self defense.
For any Michigan readers, the Michigan group fighting these things is Great Lakes Gun Rights.
Fun facts: it was tried in 2014. the local sherriffs are to blame for it not being repealed, as they said that the new the communities and could better determine who is eligible. Now nearly all of the counties have an online system, so there are no more FtF permits being issued, and likely not checked as closely.
ReplyDeleteYou can bypass the permit by getting your CCW permit. the downside is that your record of being a CCW holder is stored in the same database as someone with acriminal charge. So when they run your tag for speeding, you pop up from the "criminal" database.
Purple states.
ReplyDeleteFucking liberals moving away from their crime infested 3rd world shitholes to spread pain and misery wherever they live.
You didn't even get as far as the first paragraph, did you? If you'll look a little closer, it says the policy's been in place for 110 years, long before liberals started moving there.
DeleteSometimes I wonder why I even bother posting articles if nobody's going to read them before commenting.
They "may" finally get rid of this redundant system. Cooper will veto it - how he even got elected is another story.
ReplyDeleteA valley of humility between two mountains of deception. Except for the governor. He is at the pinnacle of skull duggary.
