University of Houston removes diversity, inclusion statements from hiring practices

HOUSTON - The University of Houston system announced they will be removing diversity, equity, and inclusion statements from their hiring practices. 

According to Houston Public Media, which is licensed by the University of Houston, UH Chancellor Renu Khator send out an email to the campus community saying they will no longer use DEI statements or factors in their hiring or promotion processes.

  1. We'll see. Personally, I'd bet the whole effort just goes underground, with no real effect on hiring decisions- which will still select black/female/mentally ill over more qualified applicants.

  2. Houston has gone down hill. After family kick the bucket there, I have very little desire to ever return. I may have to for a job, but reluctantly and will keep my searches ongoing.

    Unfortunately, I think I'm stuck with going to University of Austin for graduate / post graduate education and Austin is worse than Houston. For now, I'm just getting the enrollment started for a local community college.

    Gota keep my head down there and hopefully not get brainwashed.
